Last week the B-man gave a riveting speech that was one for the ages. It was one of the most carefully crafted, eggshell-walking-est, most dissapointing speech I have ever heard. Before, I was jaded. Now, I'm heartbroken, angry, and feeling hopelessly betrayed. Advocates of single-payer healthcare were thrown under the bus the and treated as though we were as crazy as the hillbilly birthers, or tenthers, or any other dumbass right wing group. We are not. We are right.
Barak Obama's speech last week was a lesson in psychology: "How to trick everyone into thinking they're getting what they want." I couldn't help but notice Russ Feingold not applauding every five seconds with every other butt kisser. This was because, with Russ being the smartest Senetor (I smell a children's book!), he knew that what Obama was trying to do was eliminate single payer healthcare from the table FOREVER. When he said he was determined to be the last president to ever have to deal with healthcare, that phrase alone should've scared the hell out of every single progressive in America. If we are not constantly, well, progressing, we are stagnating.
If this change in healthcare was truly change, then stock in insurance companies would've gone down. It didn't. It went up by 3per-cent: not mind blowing, but a rise nonetheless. This is scary. It shows me that this is all designed to keep the insurance companies rollin' in the dough. Barak Obama has stabbed us all in the back by being a coward. This whole public option thing is nothing but a cover. It's going to be worthless, especially if it is not available as an "option" for everyone. Russ Feingold was to be disappointed. I want him to be my president.
